Greg Packer is an American Hero. He is a man who encompasses and embodies the virtues and values of almost all Americans. A man who feels that being Number 1 and getting ahead in life are the most important things there are. And by getting ahead, I mean getting ahead in line.
That's right, Greg Packer is downright pathological in his obsessive need to be the first person in line for a media event. His physique is custom made for the hours and days needed to combat cold and other line-waiters. He can brave freezing temperatures with little clothing and can wait with the best of them.
Where is he now you ask? Standing in line to be the first person to get an iPhone of course. And to him I say bravo! Way to blend America's Media Obsessiveness with Gadget Obsessiveness and mix it in with some American Sloth, Gluttony, and perplexing Pride.

I am hard pressed to think of a more Liberal person than myself. I called myself Liberal when it was a bad word (remember back in like 2002 or 2003?). That said, Liberals are no longer correct about the war.
With the risk of sounding like John Kerry, I am for the war after I was against it. That is, the war we are currently fighting in Iraq is the war that we should be (and will be regardless) fighting. And Petraeus is fighting it correctly. The problem is not that the Lefts are not right. Its just that they were right.
It was a mistake to invade Iraq and I don't think any rational person can say it wasn't. The war was approached nonchalantly and managed incompetently. There was no Al-Qaeda in Iraq before the war. But there is now. And they are the ones with whom we are currently fighting.
Let me repeat that. We are currently fighting Al-Qaeda in Iraq. This wasn't true before the war. This wasn't true at the onset of the war. This wasn't true during the uprisings and the insurgencies. This really wasn't 100% true until very recently. But the fact remains that we are specifically targeting Al-Qaeda and that is whom we are currently fighting.
By joining with the Sunni insurgents and arming them (which was a GREAT idea regardless of what some stupid Lefty pundits say) we are isolating our true enemy. The Iraqi Sunni's want us out of Iraq. The Al-Qaeda Sunni's want us bogged down in Iraq. By playing the Bismark card, we can help turn the Sunni/Shiite war into a war of us versus them. And the 'them' will no longer be us! It will be the group that wants to destroy us. And by convincing the other groups that our fight is with Al-Qaeda and not them and showing them we want to leave, they'll help (because they don't want Al-Qaeda there and they want us gone).
So if we pull the forces out today, we will be back fighting someplace else (maybe even Iraq) within 5 years. So let's hate Bush for bringing us to war with no debate. Lets hate the Congress for being totally and completely incompetent. But let's not make the same mistakes Bush made. Let's not make a mililtary move without thinking it through. And for those who think the troops are coming home soon, I'm sorry your government failed to manage your expectations. But your tax money and troops will be fighting this war for years to come. I submit that if you don't agree, you don't understand or aren't paying attention.

Let's review: The hardest working people in this country who clean our streets, our toilets, and care for our children should be oppressed...
While the richest, most spoiled, hedinistic, Epicureans should be freed.
The right to be an American should be a competition. Whomever works hardest gets in. That way we KEEP the people working so hard for their families, their communities, and their country and boot the undeserving, all-consuming, self centered, spoiled, do nothingers.
