If you know me at all, you know that I am your typical 'lefty', 'commy', 'liberal', 'Northerner' type of guy. Along with that package comes the default position of being pro choice on the old abortion issue. However, when George Bush won the last election, I conceded that we were going to lose this right.
In the last election, it was perfectly clear what each candidate would do (litmus test not withstanding) regarding the nomination of Supreme Court Justices. It doesn't take Nostrodomus to predict what a liberal from Massachusetts or a born again from Texas would do if given a chance to stack the high court. America spoke, so now its time to pay the piper.
But Junior is really something, isn't he? He has managed to mess the thing up so bad that everybody hates him. His comedy of errors in his second term has been nothing short of awe-inspiring. And with each passing event, he loses more and more support. For instance, when he got elected, he had the fiscal conservatives, the social conservatives, and the moderate republicans (i like to call them security moms). Pretty much everybody else in the US (and probably the world) hated him. But that didn't bother him much, he had his camp. But after he started to spend a little too much of the green, he lost the fiscal conservatives. After he botched the Katrina clean up, he lost the security moms (btw, if you are ever being interviewed at a major disaster area, don't mention how you used to have a good time drinking there. it makes you look like a dumbass). Finally, by filling the Supreme Court with another crony, he may have lost his last leg of support, the social conservatives.
Today it came out that Miers thinks the Griswald Privacy case was 'rightly decided' (making it look like she may be pro-choice after all). Bush called his crony up and made her tell everyone that she was 'misunderstood'. Oh man, what a train wreck.
