If You Can't Fix It, Rename It

The good news is that there are no longer any 'hungry' Americans. The bad news is that our government is so incompetent, they would rather feed an ideology than feed hungry (American) children.

Juiced

Hold on, hold on. You mean to tell me OJ may actually have done it?

I was really convinced though when I heard he just started work on another book entitled 'Hypothetically speaking, I Tried to Kill That Moocher Kato Too'.

Governance as Adventure

I have always thought that government and the act of governing is not and should not be exciting or entertaining. It shouldn't be the place for risk takers and adventurers but rather economists and political scientists. It shouldn't be 'hold your breath' and 'watch this' but rather a set of deliberate, organized, and well reasoned actions.

People have made a lot of the 'Stay the Course' phrase and I think that the wrong people are on the wrong side of the debate. The act of staying the course is the last step to carefully planning, thorough analysis, and extensive research. Staying the course is what the tortoise did; the reassurance being necessary to a slow and deliberate execution of a thoughtful plan. Not the seat of your pants, wing and a prayer mentality that has been the vector of our course for so long now.

Stay the Course Indeed

Well the times, they are a-changin'. It didn't take long for Dick Cheney's 'Full Steam Ahead' to hit a brick wall. If you haven't heard yet, the Democrats have some semblance of power again. And the first casualty of America's undeclared war on its former government is Rummy.

It makes you wonder why Karl Rove didn't push Rummy under the bus. I am willing to bet that if Rumsfeld quit yesterday or the day before, the Republicans would have kept the Senate (which it looks like now they will lose). Were they seriously thinking that Rumsfeld is that important and good at his job that they would risk the election over him sticking around? Really? That guy?

In other news, Wake county passed a billion dollar bond initiative for our schools. Tax and spend liberals are putting the North back in North Carolina baby!
